The platform (www.studentresearchprojects.org) will provide a place for the public and students to propose research projects, for the public to fund research projects, and for students to accept and complete research projects.

Testing Water for Lead (TW)

The first project is Testing Water for Lead (TW) where submit water sample and write a research paper about a water in their state. The cost for testing and mentoring is about $100 per student. We are working with Mark Edwards, a professor at Virginia Tech, who is an expert on water treatment and corrosion, and who most recently gained international praise for his ongoing work in Flint, Michigan. This national research project will foster and employer the next generation of sciences. Our annual goal is for 100 students from each state to participate in a total of over 5,000 samples per year.
